Instead of loading sixteen separate instances of Kontakt to host sixteen sample libraries, it’s much more efficient to address sixteen sample libraries in a single instance of Kontakt over sixteen MIDI channels.īelow are two diagrams. In practice, multitimbrality is a very powerful concept.

Software instrument channel strips in MainStage are 16-part multitimbral. This is typically achieved by sending the same control information (note on, note off, etc.) to different tone generators or oscillators via MIDI channels. In electronic music, multitimbrality refers to a synthesizer’s ability to produce more than one sound or timbre at any given time. With that said I don’t recommend this method because as a programmer, one should always strive for resource optimization. In the example below, I’ve created two channel strips - one for piano (The Gentleman), and one for strings (NI String Ensemble).Ī setup like this is perfectly fine for small concerts with minimal usage of Kontakt libraries. In other words, each MainStage channel strip is dedicated to one specific Kontakt sound library.

The simplest way to use Kontakt with MainStage is creating an individual instance for each sound. Multiprocessor support (AU - Plugin) should be disabled. For each method, I’ll present an in-depth walkthrough followed by its pros and cons. In this tutorial, you’ll learn about four different ways to use Kontakt with MainStage. Google “Kontakt with MainStage,” and you’ll be bombarded with dozens of support threads without any real solution. What a joke.Apple MainStage and Native Instruments Kontakt have a history of not getting along with each other. It was failing on both builds, $3,000 computer and a $11,000 computer. No Idea why it was conflicting with Komplete 11.

I solved this by uninstalling Komplete 8. I've submitted support tickets, but I don't think NI cares. So why is this failing? I have been downloading and installing over and over. I've uninstalled everything, wiped drives clean, reinstalled windows, reinstalled native access. I've tried this on two different machines, with two sources of High Quality internet. I keep the file-path small by installing it on the root folder on a separate drive.

I'm installing them in the right folders. Then when opening after Native Access stupidity says "Install Complete" the product cannot find it's files when opened. "FATAL ERROR Decompression failed on file filepath (Error -30 -> gzip Decompression failed)" The error follows always follows the same pattern: Some were the same errors on different files, some were different. I got the same errors but on various instruments/programs. With 10 gigabit per second business internet. 1 tb SSD, (RAM) 32.0 GB, 2 additional 2tb SSDs the specs on this machine is here: OS Name

One with Komplete 8 on it, and downloaded each from K11 through NA, and upon install I would get multiple errors like the one attached below.

I recently purchased an upgrade from komplete 8 to 11 and I keep getting errors on these downloads from Native access:
